H.O.R.D. Spring 2008 featured 14 teams from
across Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Racine Wisconsin. They brought
a total of 22 robots including, 2 Flea weights, 13 Ant Weights and 7
Beetle
Weights. Six of the Ant Weight robots
were CVCC students participating in a new robots program.

The two Flea Weight robots fought twice
resulting in two decisive victories for Team Kelley’s Slice-Dicer.
In Ant Weight action, thirteen robots fought
a spirited double elimination tournament.
The semi finials featured an exciting match between long
time rivials
The Froogin, and Dr. Super Brain's Mentally Deficient Lab Assistant. The Froogin narrowly escaped defeat and moved
on to the finials where he faced new comer Wykydtron.
Wykydtron scored several good hits with his
twin spinning vertical disc, but eventual he was pitted by The Froogin. The Ant Weight Rumble was won by Fred Fred
Burger.
The Beetle Weight class one question was on
the mind of every roboteer; “Can anyone stop two time HORD champion D2?” The answer was a resounding “NO”.
D2 once again tore a path of destruction and despair
thought the rank and took home the prize.
Revenge of Dr. Super Brain finished a strong second, and
Tweedle Beetle
finished third scoring many impressive hits along the way.
